Watching the weather

The children and I, and cousin Harriet, motored over to Reed Cove to swim and have lunch.
The water was peaceful and calm...hardly any wind. Then we all fished for a while. Nicholas is a devoted angler.

When the wind picked up, I went up front to do some top-siding and showed Jane the controls:
4 knots on a heading of 1-9-0
She kept it within 10 degrees...plus or minus.

Then Jane yelled up front to tell me that the XM Satellite Weather sounded a

"Storm: 10-mile Proximity Alarm"

Which means our trip was over. Plus Harriet needed to go to ballet class. So we leaf-ed the sail, and got chased off the lake by this thing. And just in time too.

It was a beautiful storm that dumped loads of rain as soon as we started the car to drive home.
